NDI Youth Empowerment Projects

NDI develops and implements youth projects which both empower young people and improve overall health of the community. In 2010, a group 4 NDI-Braggs Global Heatlh Scholarships Winners came to the island to implement ESE - a youth program of sex education and wellness. Working in high schools and in with the Ministry of Education, NDI Interns led classes over 2 months in many health topics including yoga, exercise, and sex ed.

NDI has also sponsored youth sport teams. Soccer Team. In 2009, the NDI soccer team won the championship and spearheaded  a garbage clean-up program. Plans to implement a permaculture project to help grow medicial plants for NDI have also been discussed. Various trash cleanups have been coordinated in the island communities of Los Angeles, Esquipulas and on the ball fields. NDI groups work in solidarity with other youth groups whenever possible.
